Information Technology Associate Degree

The Information Technology program provides students with skills in computer programming, networking, help-desk operations, systems hardware configuration, application software, telecommunications, purchasing, decision making, and interpersonal skills. Students also develop skills in database and spreadsheet programming, word processing, data communications, and the verbal and written communications skills necessary for success.

Graduates of this program will be prepared for entry-level positions with a wide variety of employers who use, service, sell or support personal computers and networked systems. They will be trained to install, operate, upgrade, troubleshoot, assist with purchase decisions and program computer systems in both a networked and non-networked environment.

Students who complete the associate’s degree program may wish to continue their education in the Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) program offered at selected campuses. The B.B.A. offers concentrations in General Management or Information Technology.

Graduates of the Information Technology associate degree program will be able to:

1. Utilize existing knowledge and skills to stay abreast of the dynamic changes which take place in the technology industry.

2. Employ computer technology to transform data into useful information in order to improve the profitability and operating efficiency of an enterprise.

3. Solve problems using computer technology appropriate to the specific situation.
